Roots of cannas, elephant ears for storage...

Hi,

All the information on here about storing my tropicals has been great!

I dug them up today and wasn't prepared for how huge the root system would be.

Do I cut the roots at all? Just a bit? Or down to the bulb part? This is for cannas and elephant ears.

Thank you for any information on that! Also, do I cut the stem clear down to the root?

THANK YOU! :-)

It doesn't matter much so I do the least amount of work.

I wrap in several layers of newspaper, put in a sealed plastic garbage bag along with crumpled newspaper to absorb excess moisture, and store in a cool part of my basement.

Thank you. I was worried if I didn't cut them down just right they wouldn't grow. :-)
