Rushing to beat the frost?

Every year I hope to have all the potted plants and tender tropicals/subtropicals indoors and cuttings taken well before the first expected frost.

This year I sort of made it (with an asterisk). Our first frost is expected Thursday night the 21st-22d of October, a little later than usual, and I can't think of anything else I need to do. The asterisk is because I thought we were going to get frost last Friday night and I was scrambling to get the elephant ears covered with frost cloth and take in a few more potted plants and cuttings (we escaped with a low of 37F). This time I'm ready. Nothing else gets salvaged. I mean it.

Is everyone else super-organized and prepared well ahead of time, or are there more gardeners stumbling around in the dark as the frost descends for the first time?
