I started bringing in some but have not completed the work of bringing in all of my plants yet.

We are going to have a good week of 70s and 60s this week so I will be ahead of the frost this year.

I have learned through the years that the tropicals can take a lot more cool and light frost than I thought.

I havent brought in any plants yet and the first frost usually occurs here sometime in mid November with some close calls probably in early November. So far nothing below 40F at night in the forecast and very few of my plants are inside.

So we got close to 32F on the a.m. of the 22d, with enough frost to end the tropical part of gardening for the year.

The night before, I wound up bringing in 3 more potted coleus (even though I have cuttings of all varieties) and one or two other plants that gave me appealing looks. I also took pity on an underachieving hoya that made it through the frost unscathed (and which I can put in my office, assuming there's any more room atop the filing cabinet).

But I'm absolutely done now.

We had frost last night. I'm so glad I got the last of my tender plants in on Saturday. Still have my brugs and a couple other tougher tropicals out that I will bring in soon.Hate to cut down the brugs, they're loaded with buds. :)

Alright, I brought in the underachieving 5-foot potted Barbados cherry tree last night. But no more.

Supposed to hit 29F tonight.

Most of my plants are inside now. Still no frost, but its getting cold and the nights are getting close enough to support a frost (upper 30s). I still have most of my banana plants outside as well as all my begonias and a few other tropicals too, but about 80% of the potted plants are indoors.
