I grew B. ternifolia as a frontal accent this past season and found that it performed very well here, growing to about 18" by 18" and flowering nonstop from midsummer to frost. While being a bit cranky about indoor conditions, it has been flowering off and on under lights and sending up new shoots for cuttings (I am considering using several plants for more massed bedding in '05).

Have any of you made use of this plant, other Bouvardia species or hybrids in tropical bedding schemes? And regarding the claim I saw on one site that B. glaberrima is hardy to -10F, is this as big a fantasy as I suspect it to be?
