Anyone know where I could buy a monkey puzzle tree?

Gloria,

If you're ever up Island near Nanaimo, let me know. I have gallon sized, Vancouver Island grown Monkey Puzzles.

Cheers, Barrie in Lantzville.

Hello, I have a beautifully shaped tree (which is 5-6 meters long) which I would like to sell. But I am based in the UK (near London).

Some of the good local nursuries sell them over here and I live in a zone 7, so I would imagine they would be even more available in a zone 9! They are expensive trees though.
They are getting popular around here and I have to say that they are by far the most unique trees around and they are relatively fast growers so some people have 30 foot tall trees!

I procured mine off of eBay from a nice fella who propogates them. A slow grower, but very healthy.

I have seen bigger specimens twice in local nurseries (Maryland- 7A), but they were random occurrences.

I suppose a nursery could do a special order for you.

Mmm - the original post was back in 2004 so I'm thinking they aren't prolly still looking. Ya think? :-)
For the 'search peeps' in my zone I have a MPT planted three years ago. It has grown pretty slowly so hoping it will do the leap thing this year. My Nana had one in her front yard in Vancouver that was at least 20' tall so it's a memory of her + my grandpa and like that.

Maybe in some locations they are fast growers but not really here. :-) As with everything (even real estate) it's location, location, location.

I'm old as dirt so I don't think I'll be around to see it be 30' tall but someone will - I hope. :-)
