In Memory of Friends Lost.....

....either through accident, disease or the ultimate act of love and courage, decision.

Human friends come and go but the bond between humans and their pets is unique. They love you no matter what. They are happy to see you no matter what. They forgive you no matter what. They accept you for just being you.

For most pets their lives are short; far too short even in the best of circumstances. So here's to our animal friends... be they the beloved buff coloured kitty or a dove or a mix breed dog or the hermit crab that passed away. You may be gone from our home but you remain alive in our memories and hearts.

I remember well.

All Chihuahuas, Bihai?

We just lost our last Sugar Glider while I was at the convention. He was born in our home 10 years ago. The month prior our 20 year old Ring-necked Dove died. She would have been 21 this month.

There was a beautiful collie that had been poisoned and suffered severe liver damage. His mucus membranes were the colour of orange juice! He was sooooo sick. The owners wanted us to try to help him. We unloaded the pharmacy into his system and he was in the hospital for about 5 days.

His liver enzymes started coming down! He was a healthy pink once again. He was happy. His owners were happy. We were happy! About 3 weeks later all his enzymes were NORMAL! WOW! We couldn't believe it.

A few weeks later he slipped on some ice and hurt his back. He had trouble walking. He had slipped a disc and had severe arthritic changes in his back. We attempted some conservative treatment but they did not improve him much. We put him down 2 weeks ago as he couldn't even stand at that point. How unfair is that? :-(

He is one dog / friend I'll remember too.

Hey Everyone,

My boy is a miniture poodle, the cutest little thing ever. I can't imagine my life without him. I almost lost him about a year ago when a cab driver hit him on the side walk, I ran outside in freezing cold temp wearing my night gown only. Luckily after a very expensive bill he is alive and strong and that's all that matters.

I know he would have to leave me someday, just don't want to think about it.
