I have pinstriped ginger I will trade you for midnight. I had midnight several years ago, and for some reason it stopped coming back. Would like another start. Let me know if you are interested.

I need to remove the z. midnight from my list. Mine has disapeared also. I
got mine in mid summer last year and it was a nice size. But it steadily
declined no matter what I did. By the time I moved it inside for winter
there was hardly anything left to it. I stuck the rhizome in the ground a
month ago and left it to mother nature. All accounts I have heard of this
plant is that it is difficult to grow and is not as hardy as advertised.
But mine would'nt even grow during our hot and humid summer (I had it in
shade). There is a guy here in S. Louisiana that grows all kinds of
tropicals like heliconia, Ae Ae banana, and bat plants outdoors, and he
could not get this one to grow. He told me the first year it did not come
back from winter until June and only grew to half the original size. Then
after the next winter it never came back. I have pretty much given up on
trying this one.

Thanks Isaac. I see from a post from a oouple of years ago that this one sometimes does not last long.
