Tropical Plants

unidentified plants

I recently got back from a trip to San Jose, CA and came across a few plants in the Holiday Inn courtyard that I had never seen before. Based on the surrounding plants (birds of paradise, several varieties of palms, an aloe, etc.), I assume these plants are tropical, or at least sub-tropical. I was wondering if anyone might know what kinds of plants they are since I have no clue where to start identifying them but would like to possibly grow them in pots (indoors n winter and on my patio in summer) in the Washington DC area. Thanks.

Javyd, I'm new to gardening but plant 1 looks like some kind of fern. I'm not sure which though. Plant 2 is a philodendron. Plant 3 is not showing up when I click on it so I can't tell you. Plant 4 looks like a Bottlebrush Tree. I hope this helped.

The first one is Asparagus meyerii also known as Foxtail fern. The second looks like Philodendron selloun. The third is the toughest for me. It does not look like any tropical I have seen. Could it be a some type of sedum?
Plant four is red bottlebrush aslo known as melaleuca.

The third plant is a Bergenia probably - cordifolia (the most common in our area). I would agree with Cocomo on the other three.
