What am I doing wrong???

After having such good germination of the caesalpinia seeds and potting them up most of them have shrivelled on the top. I have kept them in the propogator and not watered too much. One or two did damp off at the roots but upon checking some shrivelled ones the roots seem O.K.
Do you think any can survive? I know the temperatures outside have been below freezing but these are indoors and kept warm at all times. Can the ones with shrivelled tops resprout?
Thanks for any advice.
Hazel.

What kind of propagator? That term covers a multitude of designs, some of them not at all good for starting semi-arid subtropicals like Caesalpinia. Also, under what conditions did you transplant them, and how?

Hello tugbrethil, The propogator is a variable temperature one which is set at maximum and gives around 70 degrees cutting in and out, size is 2feet square and I cover the base with gravel. The seeds germinated very well and quickly in a seed tray inside the propogater. All this is inside the house not the greenhouse. I then potted them up into 3 inch pots of multi purpose compost and placed them back into the same propogator with a clear dome top. I only water when compost seems dry but they have gradually died and now only two or three look even half alive. The new little tips go droopy and shrivel. There has been very little sunlight this winter and I may have started them at quite the wrong time. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Hazel.
