Solandra maxima blooming in very low light

My Solandra maxima was too big to keep in the greenhouse so I stuck it downstairs where it gets very little light. It's recently begun blooming and the blooms are as nice as when it's been in better light. I had to get on a chair to get this pic. I have forgotten to water it more then a few times since it's been inside and a number of buds did drop but besides the darn aphids it's done quite well. The color of the flower is a darker yellow then this pic shows and the scent is wonderful.

Very nice flowers. It looks very healthy, the blooms look exactly like they do in the tropics. Thanks for sharing the pics of them. I got my Solandra Maxima a few weeks ago, and it is growing pretty quick. It was about 2 feet tall when I bought it and it has grown about 2 to 3 inches. It looks like it will be a fast grower once it goes out for the summer. Hopefully i will get blooms as nice as yours. Good luck! |

| They bloom even along the gloomy foggy beaches of San Francisco. Tough plants. |

| I've seen it growing against a wall in Southern CA. It was just covered in blooms and looked spectacular. I wish I could grow it outside here to get the full effect but that's not happening. lol |
