Solandra finally blooming--under lights!

| I have a couple different solandra plants, but this is the first time I've ever convinced one of them to bloom. That probably won't seem like much of an accomplishment to you southern folks, but here in PA they have to grow in pots and be brought in under my shoplight type growlights for the winter. There was only one bloom, but I must admit it was worth waiting for!

| Hey, I'm in NW Florida and mine is in a pot, in the greenhouse - taking no chances with it! Congratulations!!! |

| Thanks for sharing the pic. I found out about this plant for the first time on this fourm and I should be getting my plant tommorrow so your pic had perfect timing. I really hope to get it blooming this summer, but I dont know if it will be a bigger plant, or just a starter. But anyway your plant must be amazing, and that flower is really perfect. You must be taking great care of it! They are challenging plants in northern climates, but I think its worth it. Good luck! |

| I love the solandra blooms. Mine will bloom very easily inside without supplimental lighting. It would probably do even better in the greenhouse but they get too big. I'd love to find a way to trick them into blooming during our growing season so I could cut them back before taking them inside. |
