After being a long time resident of zone ten who still believes I'm in 11lol It can and does freeze in Florida lol
And with regularity .
Anyway, Many ,many plants will survive and IME the best thing to do is wait untill Feb to prune this will give you enough time to to get a full view of the damage. Why stress the plant more with pruning??
After all winter is far from being over.

I think that only the tropics don't freeze. :o) Specially with climate change. Even Louisiana's colder than me here in California. And WE'RE certainly experiencing 2 very cold winter's in a row.
I wouldn't prune till spring or at least wait awhile. Last year, we had a serious freak deep freeze and I had to hold off which was good, I found less was dead than I thought... I certainly don't understand how a hedychium survived, even close to the house, I lost so much. So, you never know. If a hedychium can survive a week of 22º, then you never know what will survive.

I thought I lost some of my more tender tropicals last year when we had 2 days of freezing temps. Almost everything came back, with the exception of some heliconias. And it all looked hopeless. Cross your fingers and don't rip anything out!

We are having a pretty cold winter this year and the Ice Cream bananas, black taro, pulcherrima caesalpinias, and zingiber collinsii are looking sad, but I am hopeful that they will make it.

I don't plan to replace anything that can't make it through this winter though.
