I planted seeds. WIll they be able to cast off these shells...Oh please help me I got them from a special person here and do not want to lose them...Thank you!! Barb
I've never planted jatropha seeds before but I did plant a crinum lily from seed and it came up looking just like that. At first I thought I'd planted it wrong but it eventually shed the shell just fine. I think yours will do the same.
Yes, they 'throw' off the shells quite quickly. But, it doesn't 'hurt' them to remove them by hand. They are among the very easiest plants to grow! Both these and the Jatropha podagrica look like they sprouted upside down. In fact, so does a coffee plant!
Hi Grandma barb! LOL Yup you are a grandma. I really didnt want to lose them after their special meaning and I got them from you.... :)
costaric LOL I am so new to tropicals I only have had my gh for a year now. That is funny about them growing upside down. I might go out there and give them a hand...
Thank you for the help...And Barb thank you for sharing with me...Hugs from WI
>"Both these and the Jatropha podagrica look like they sprouted upside down. In fact, so does a coffee plant!" ___ "Look like" : Do jatropha and coffee just look as though they have germinated upside down when in reality the orientation is right? Or are we to equate the appearance and the reality?
