Pale white leaves in heliconia

MarkHI

Hi all - i have a few heliconia that have pale white leaves. The ones in the picture don't get a lot of sun, so I thought that might be it, but another one I have planted that gets direct sun for most of the day also has some white leaves. Any idea what is going on? I have very sandy soil but added organic compost to this bed before I planted them in late summer. I've fertilized them twice since then. I live in hawaii at sea level but we did have a cold snap a month or so back with nighttime temps in the high 50's

Unfortunately I don't know the variety. I dug the rhizomes out from a friend. It has flowered once in the fall. Looked like maybe some kind of heliconia stricta. I have some ginger and a heliconia rostrata in the same area that are doing well.

Any tips? Thanks!
