Looking for the title of a tropical gardening book...

Hi,
I remember a few years back I read a book about a guy who grew tropical plants in his new york city apartment. It was a small book and went out of print in the 80s I believe.
Some of the other details I remember are that it had a blue cover and one of the peculiar points of the book was that he sprouted a coconut in his bathtub.
Does anybody know what book I'm talking about?

I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place.

Sounds like 'The After Dinner Gardening Book'

The author couldn't resist sprouting all kinds of seeds that he found while cooking.

I grew a papaya and a mango tree using his directions.

here's a link to the book available on amazon

Here is a link that might be useful: book on Amazon

If that suggestion is not what you were looking for, and the book was mostly about food plants, you may want to ask on the veggie forum also although this is a fine place for your question.

Was there an experiment you wanted to try but only vaguely remember? Maybe we could just jump to that.
