| Hi, I bought this plant in N.W. Tennessee this weekend but it did not have a tag, I am not even sure that it is tropical, but I would appreciate any help... The underside of the immature leaves are purple which fades as the leaf matures. The trunk is very woody. Thanks!!

| This looks like a Polyscias species but I am not sure. |

| Thank you trini,I did a search on Polyscias and this does not seem to be in the Ginger family. These leaves are very round with just a slight bit of serration at the leaf edge. |

Polyscias are not in the ginger family. They are also referred to as Aralias. |
