For the last two weeks, my alba is currently shedding last years leaves. Though the leaves turn a little yellow and may develop some dead brown patches before falling off. I guess this is a normal process. It is currently putting out a lot of new fresh leaves and I feel it may bloom in late April or early May.
Yours, however, looks like the new fresh leaves were burnt under a light or strong sunlight. I have no idea if that is the case though. But I grow mines in light shade because the last time I placed it in direct sun, the thing starting having burnt leaf spots.
Where are you growing the plant? I am assuming that it has been inside all winter (looking at your zone), but have you moved it lately or changed something? How is the humidity? What about water, is the plant too wet?
