Definately Gliricidium. It is a common "living Fence" tree in CR. Also called Madre de Cacao or Madre de Coffea, (Mother of chocolate/coffee) as it is used in shading these cash crops and providing nitrogen via its nitrogen fixing nodes in its roots.

No, it isn't Gliicidum, Madre de chocolate.I am aware of many of the living fences, but this one was just one large tree amongst many other species. While the blooms are similar there are many more on each 'bunch', and the seed pod containing only 1 seed, are totally different.

It does look like some kind of lonchocarpus. Maybe L. costaricensis or L. ferrugineus. Keep us posted if you get a name.

Trini, it does indeed seem to be Lonchocarpus felipei or L. costaricensis.
