Though I have not tied it in a pot would think it a good choice .Very hardy ,can be pruned to any shape desired and will flower at a small size. Not sure if a chill is required as it flowers in Feb for me so get a chill if I want it or not.lol.
There is also a variagated variety that has white edges to the leaves, would be even gaudier lol.
Would think ,all the Clerodendron family a good choice for pot culture ?? gary

Down here in So. Florida, it is too prolific. I had a plant that sent out suckers that popped up all over the lawn and even worked itself across the yard to my neighbor's house.Why don't you try an experiment? Have one cutting in a pot and put another one in the ground. That way you have a spare in case the one in the ground doesn't take off. There is a book called "The Exotic Garden" by Richard R. Iversen in which he describes how he grew tropical plants in a garden in New York just by overwintering them in his garage. I think you should be able to do that with the Clerodendron.

I'm just outside of DC and grow several varieties of Clerodendrums. All but the quadriloculare bloom beautifully. I ocasionally get a couple blooms and the foliage grows well but the plant looks nothing like the ones I see in FL. I keep it in a greenhouse over the winter but think this variety really needs a long season of high heat to bloom well. The cuttings should root easily.
