Want is a BOP

I think I answered my own question. Since I'll be planting in the ground for 1/2 the year I won't need a super sturdy medium to plant in. Won't have to worry about using gritty mix. I'll just use Tapla's seasonal mix (3 parts bark fines:1 part perlite:1 part peat moss) when they are potted and indoors.

Unless of course this is a bad idea???

BOP has very large thick roots which go very deep into the soil, Once planted in the ground you may not want to move it. I would advise keeping it in a pot, which you can sink into a planting hole for the summer if you want that "look". A mature plant can reach 5' in height/width which will dwarf any clivia so I would avoid that combination, plus BOP wants full sun.
