Hi, everyone!! My husband and I just spend almost 6 digits (yes, that's almost $100K!!!) re-doing our horrible backyard, which we now want to landscape ourselves, concentrating on a tropical motif in honor of our 20-year travel history. Here's our problem: We find we're constrained by too much shade, so we have to find shade-tolerant or shade-loving plants / flowers / trees. Sigh. And I want COLOR! Suggestions??? My research has led me to fall in love with possibly inappropriate choices, such as Phormium (Jester, Maori Sunrise, etc.), Tetraploid - Hemerocallis "Spacecoast Starburst", Heuchera in all its various shades, and so on. Any thoughts, comments, other suggestions???? Since we've already sunk a bundle into this, we're not so worried about cost as we are in "getting it right" with SPECTACULAR colors and shapes. And to be 100% honest, we want to take our neighbors' breaths away, too!! heh heh heh. ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! xoxoxo, Suziekew
