I recently purchase a White Bat flower and the instructions I found say to plant it in soil that is very light and pourous and drains well. Use something like 60% canadian peat moss, 30% perlite or arlite and 10% vermiculite. They also like a little acid type fertilizer occasionally. They also like shade and good air circulation. I just planted mine last week and see no sign of growth yet but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will grow. Maybe there are some experts out there who can give us both some good advice! Anybody?

It is a good idea to have a nice porous mix like that, but for me personally I prefer to have some organics also in there so I don't have to be so perfect on ferilization. I use pure sterilized compost for that (mixed with peat & perlite). I still like to maintain at least 30% of the overall mix as perlite like Tropic Lover, and sometimes 50% if you are a good waterer. A similar mix is bagged potting soil like Miracle Grow mixed 2:1 with perlite.

Lynda you're going to need good greenhouse humidity to grow these. Houseplant humidity & Sunroom humidity won't quite do it. Good luck!
