Joshua Tree / Palm ??? Help !!

I am currently Living in Mississippi and I noticed in the woods near my house the are a lot of plants growing that look similar to a joshua tree it has green long pointed or spiked leaves kind of but not really like a palm..does anyone have a clue what this is Thanks

There are several native Yucca species in the southeast, and the Joshua tree is also a Yucca species, but wouldn't tolerate Mississippi conditions.
