Hi
I live in NYS and brought my potted elephant ear into the 60 degree basement to overwinter it because I thought it was one of my upright elephant ears. About a month ago I brought it upstairs and started to water more frequently. Now part of the bulb is rotten and mushy but it is still blooming. Do I just throw it out or can I save it??
The leaves were turning yellow/green but I was examining it with my loupe looking more for disease and not thinking overwatering. My upright is doing fine and I probably have a dozen regular EE bulbs that I dug up in the fall and are in boxes in a cool part of the basement.
Should I pitch it? Is the increase in watering the cause?
Thank you !!!! Jean
