promix bx with 'biodegradable' additive

has anyone used this product? would this be a good medium for growing tropical plants/ peppers? my bhut jolokia died after 4 days. not sure if it was the miracle grow (it was available at the time) used for transplanting or too much water? or both. would appreciate any input. thanks.

RE: promix bx with 'biodegradable' additive

I don't care for Pro-mix but will use it in a pinch for starting seeds or transplanting young seedlings. I've never heard of the one with the biodegradable additive and I never use Miracle Grow soil or fertilizer. I think the best potting mixes are made by Fafard. The make several blends, 3B is one of the all purpose mixes. I use it for most of my container plants.
