But do they Spread?! (red sisters)

I have been trying to find info on whether cordyline fruticose (red ststers) spreads to take up more space, ala canna lilies. None of the sties talks about this. I have found info on how to start from seed, etc. but not whether I need to devote more space to them if I plant them. Even if they don't go as fast as cannas, they still look to me like a plant that multiplies and spreads. Does anyone here know?

I never had them spread.
When I gardened in the subtropics I had tons of these things and every spring I cut the tops off a portion of them and stuck them in the soil to increase the numbers. But aside from that they behaved quite nicely.
