Are you sure that's a mango? I grow a lot of mangos and have never seen one like that. Do you know the variety?

It's just that it doesn't look like a mango leaf to me. Any possibility something else could have been in that soil?

As long as the upper leaves are okay I wouldn't worry. Some plants do drop the first leaves after the mature leaves have developed.

Looks more like a Persimmon. For sure not a Mango.

I have a Philippine Mango Tree in front of my Yard it's fruiting at the moment...Your mango tree, the leaves it doesn't look familiar...So I don't think that is Mango tree at all.. I agree all the comments here about your mango tree...Ty
