Making soil acidic for miracle fruit seeds.

How should I make acidic soil for miracle fruit seeds at home without buying acidifying substances. I live in PA and will be growing it in a pot obviously. I've read oak leaves and pines needles make soil more acid. They've been in regular potting soil for like a week now. Thanks.

Regular potting soil is a nono with Miracle fruit. Peat moss and perlite 50/50 is what I've seen. If you don't want to buy sulfur granules, coffee grounds can be a short term solution to acidify soil. Adding a tbsp of vinegar to 1 gal of water can be used for watering.

Check out Als 5:1:1 mix 5 parts pine bark fines 1 part peat moss 1 part perlite It comes highly reccomended. Many people down here grow blueberries in pure pine bark.

Please don't use peat moss! In many countries its use is now banned because of the environmental damage caused in extracting it. It's like coal mining. Peat bogs have been there for millions of years. Crushed conifer bark is an excellent substitute.
