Hi all, Haven't been on this forum for a long time but know where to come if a question arises! I have a pony tail palm that is over 20 years old, almost 8 feet tall and almost touching the ceiling.It has started looking ugly,lost all of it's bottom fronds. I know that is it's normal growth pattern but I don't like it. I have seen small ones in the big box stores that have been cut off low on the trunk and have new growth, sometimes it looks like several clusters of new fronds. Do you think I can cut this plant off without killing it? I really don't want to do that just because I've had it for so long.
