Hi memder, I make my own soil(actually I got the recipe) from the Contianer Forum from Al(tapla) if you do a search on that forum under Al's mix or Container Soil Mix,there are a few excellent soil mixes there. But be warned some of the ingredients are not that easy to find. But once you find it you will LOVE the results...Here is a pic of my container gardenia and a Desert Rose that I have in the same soil mix. Gardenia is in full bud again, a couple weeks away from blooming. Good luck...

If you are unable are unwilling to mix your own soil, Schultz Cactus soil does very well for gardenia.

Puglvr that is one of the prettiest adeniums I've seen. The blooms and the caudexes (sp?) are just gorgeous. Did you braid/twist them yourself?

Memder I think that Fafard makes the higest quality bagged mixes. They have varieties for pretty much anything.

No, I did NOT braid the caudex, that was the natural way the caudex grew. All I did 2-3 times a year was up-pot it and raised the caudex an inch or two every time. I also went up a size in pot once a year or so. I bought it over 3 years ago from H. Depot in an 8" pot. Now it is in a 18" Pot.
