 o
orange flowered tree with 'half' fruit

At the Hotel Gran Nacional in David, Panama yesterday, I observed a medium-sized tree with brilliant orange single flowers and a lemon-sized "fruit" that looked as though it had been cut in half. I've searched my tropical gardening books, but can't identify it. Can anyone help? (I simply must have one for my garden in Boquete.)

Could it be Pereskia corrugata (Pereskia Rose Cactus)?

I believe you're right. I passed right over it because it looks nothing like a cactus. Thanks so much.

HELLO, HERE FROM PANAMA TOO. PROBABLY PERESKIA BLEO.IT IS A NATIVE CACTUS FROM THIS REGION.
