I had a seed pods on my plant which split when it was ripe and released a cloud of seeds which are like dandelion seeds only larger and they blow every wich way. My advice is to watch carefully for any signs of ripening snd when you see any fix a paper bag around the pod to catch the seed. Some of these seeds germinated so it is not hard to obtain new plants from seed.

i actually decided i don't want the seeds and i was wondering what the best way was to remove the seed pod without hurting the plant.

Sorry my mistake. Just remove the pod with a knife the plant will not die.In fact it will probably grow better as it can put all of its efforts into growing rather that reproducing.
