They are banana plants and even the fruit is variegated.

They are looking pretty good. I got to try the fruit once it was sweet. The nanners are kinda striped looking too when they are growing.
Has the price of these come down any yet? I haven't looked lately.... I don't suppose the AeAe can be tc'd yet either like the Siam Rubys can?

Do you know what is the cause for the Variegated.?? I've read that it's not genetic but caused by a virus?? Any truth to that?? gary

I have been reading alot of articles lately that say variegation in leaves and flowers can be caused by a virus. The virus is spread via aphids or other insects. Not sure if these kind of bananas are or not or if all plants that are variegated are from a virus...

Do you keep yours in full sun? I have mine in full shade but was wondering if I should move it at least in morning sun. I was afraid the variegation would burn.

Martina,

The mother grew up in pretty shady conditions. When the truck reached about 6 feet, it started to get more sun. I did get some burn on the leaves.
