Babaco question

I posted this in the tropical fruit forum but haven't had any responses so I'll try here as well. This is the first year I'm trying babacos. I noticed that one of mine has flowers. If they hold how long does it take for the fruit to mature? Is it similar to other papayas? I'm surprised that they are growing so well because we had an unbelievably hot spring and summer with temps averaging in the mid to upper 90's for the past month or two. Most papayas do well here (in the greenhouse during the cold months) but babacos aren't supposed to like high heat. At least that's what I've read.

RE: Babaco question

Its grown out here in interior Southern California outside in full sun. Temps range from 80s-90s most of the time, I have not seen any of them not perform in these conditions. The babaco is closely related to the papaya, so heat tolerance may still be there.
