have had the same experience here in s. florida. Supposedly a "Cool dry rest period is required " but thats even harder to provide ,seems the fridge is too cold lol
I grow the hybrid florist type glads but simply replace them when they decline though i find the wild species will reflower but since I can get 50 for 5 bucks why bother?? lol I've given up trying to grow most temperate plants as there are a gazillion types that love the climate lol i do still pamper a Venus Fly trap with a fridge winter . Though i think a better approach would be to grow from seed until they croak . can get around 18 months of good growth. very easy to start from seed anyway.
A major problem with fridge winters has been rot probably from the food . If you had a dedicated fridge ??
