bird of paradise in a pot

I have two BOP's, each in their own pot. One has yellow and blue blooms, the other has the more common orange and blue. I don't know their exact varieties. They spend the winter in the house. This year I need to put them in slightly bigger pots. I am considering putting both of them in the same very large pot because I don't have a lot of room indoors. The pot I'm considering is 23 in/close to 30 gallons. I assume that in the fall after they bloom would be the best time to repot? Will I risk them not blooming next year if I repot them? Is putting both in the same pot a feasible idea? Does it have any drawbacks for the plants?

Thanks for your input! Sara
