Dig them up in winter. Wash off and store for winter. Use rich soil but don't plant until it's very warm out. A black plastic pot can help the soil warm up. So, it's should be may before the bulbs are potted up. You can use rootone or some other fungicide on the tuber. Use osmocote to push the plant. It may need repotting during summer.
The bulbs have to get big enough to store energy for it to flower the next year.

I kept mine in pot and brought it in for winter almost threw it away it took a long time to emerge in spring so be patient with it. Patty
