dracaena spike plant questions

I've had a dracaena indivisa for a few months now and have planted it in the ground in part shade.It grows very slowly...I was wondering if there is any way to speed it up a bit. i was also wondering if it can overwinter here. ive seen one of my neighbor's plants barely make it through the winter in a large wooden "pot",but every internet source out there has no sure answer on their cold tolerance . Advice would be greatly appreciated!

According to the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families Dracaena indivisa is actually Cordyline indivisa from New Zealand.

Check the search engines for Cordyline indivisa for more information. Also try to check some good botanical sites to learn more. The World Checklist of Selected Plant Families is a service of the Royal Botanic Garden Kew in London and is very reliable.

After taking what you said and doing a bit of research i have found i have a cordyline australias...or something like that...and now to get to the care of this plant. (this probably should have been on the tropicalesque forum,but now that we're here...)
