waterwise screening plants

Hi forum,

Our neighbors have recently thinned out thier shrubs so we have effectively lost our privacy screen. On our side we have planted a number of citrus trees but they are still young and arent providing much of a barrier. i have planted "amongst them" a number of things including dwarf date palms, golden cane palms, crinum lillies, feijoa trees, Chines fan palms and South African Dragon trees. I would like to plant a few other (hopefully faster growing)tropical looking waterwise plants to try and provide a bit of privacy. We have deep, sandy calcareous soils which stops me growing things like Michelias, murrayas and gardenias which I would have liked originally.Any suggestions?
