I was given an organic formula that is good for insects and diseases.
1 tsp. baking soda ( raises PH, makes plants less susceptible to fungus). 1 tsp. Peppermint castile soap (available at health food store, soap kills sucking insects, the peppermint repels). 1 tsp. vegetable oil ( coats and kills scale and other sucking insects)
Mix together in one quart of water and spray. Use once a week for three consecutive weeks to kill any hatching eggs. This formula is also good for fungus.
I always had thrips on my azaleas and this concoction worked very well in getting rid of them.
