More advice on growing an Avocado from seed

sacristia

I have two Avocado trees that I have sprouted from seed. I named them Wallis and Dip to tell them apart, as one sprouted way before the other. They are about 5 months old (from the day of planting the pit.) They both are very tall. I have had to transplant one (Wallis) in a bigger pot, because when I first planted it, it was a very small pot. Wallis survived the transplant, but now has 3 browning leaves, and wilts alot. My mother says it need more water, but I don't want to drown it or cause the roots to rot. I have noticed even thought some leaves are dying, it has new leaf growth.

Can someone give me some advice on growing avocados in pots. I don't want to kill them accidently due to my inexperience to taking care of them. I have tried to get as much information as I could find online, but it isn't very clear, if I can give them direct sunlight, or how much light they can have. I was taking them outside to get some sun, when I got off work, and bring them back inside the the night.

Any good advice would be appriciated. Thank you.
