the leaves throughout the plant have begun to yellow

Your description of the plants symptoms indicates to me that it wouldn't be normal for any healthy plant to have much yellowing of the leaves. In my
opinion this plant normally tolerances a wide range of growing conditions.

Have you been watering well with each and every watering and let the soil dry out a bit between? How about checking the plant for the possibility of insect infestation?

Tell us more about how you have been caring for it? Fertilizer, repotting, soil etc......

A photo would also be appropriate so we can have a better idea of what's really going on.
