You definetly need to get it out of the pot, and it needs water. I have a purple passion plant that does wonderful in an EarthBox. But im pretty sure the container is whats doing the damage. What region of the US do you live in? Because you might have to put it outside because passion flowers are tropical plants and sunlight and rain give a lot of nutrients you can find in tap water.

I live in zone 7. Norfolk, Virginia. if I get it out of the container, where do I put it? What is an earthbox and how do I get one? Do I just put it in water? What is in the container that's hurting it?

Whats wrong with the pot is Purple Passions have a large root system, so you are containing its roots from growing outward.
An earthbox is a large pot that has a water reservoir in the bottom to feed your plants, if you go on earthbox.com or search it on google it will tell you were to get one.

Are you talking about a Gynura aurantiaca or a passion vine? I have several Gynura aurantiacas in fairly small pots that are kept outside in filtered sun. I allow them to go dry between waterings and they do fine. I winter them over inside under HID lights when I want to keep them going or I take cuttings and stick them in a glass of water and repot the following spring. I keep the majority of my passion vines in full sun and also allow them to dry between waterings. They are in large containers and are wintered over inside or in the greenhouse. Neither plant is fed often.

Both plants need different amounts of light for one, so the correct plant should be named..So, friends, which is it? Toni

I think she is talking about a purple passion, the one that produces fruit. Because thats the same one i have and i told her everything i have done to make it grow.
