| I got this plant from a mixed bag auction on ebay. The person selling it called them Traveling Elephant Ears, but I can't find anything about that plant on the internet. The plants don't come from a bulb or corm, they are just a root mass like a perennial or annual. They also have all these little shoots coming off of them that root and grow new plants. It is very vigorous (to say the least!) and I love it, but I'd like to know more about it!
Any help that can be provided in identifying this plant would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

| Oh yes I can see it now. I can see why they would call it travelling EE, because it is invasive here in FL and other warm states, LOL. I think they have even placed it on our noxious weed list, but its very nice if you keep it contained. Yours looks great! |

| There are a lot of different cultivars of c esculenta. It is said to be the oldest plant cultivated by man. It's known as Taro and a lot of other names and it is a food plant all over the world. I have about five of them growing and someday soon I intend to eat one. john |
