Tropical and possibly houseplant

There are 2 plants, one behind the other, that have probably grown from some dropped seeds by perched birds, and I have seen no sign of them elsewhere. The leaves resemble 'Passiflora quadrangularis' in both shape and size, but are thick and does not have the 'sandpapery' texture of the passion fruit. It isn't a vine.

Just realized that the other leaf mentioned, does not belong to 'Passiflora quadrangularis'. Totally different.

Looks kinda like sassafras but I don't believe it grows that far south but I think there is a related species in Brazil so maybe one in Costa Rice well.

Have you tried taking a leaf to your local vivero?

Don't know for sure, but looks like a type of fig

I agree with isabella, it looks similar to a fig. If it was sassafras it would have the other two leaf types.
