Hurricane Damage to plants

Posted by rroy 9 (My Page) on

I just went through Hurricane Gustav, my Blood Leaf Banana plants are bent half way down and my huge split leaf Philodendron's trunk is down on the ground. Should I cut them down..can they possibly be saved? Any help is appreciated.

RE: Hurricane Damage to plants

Have always found that almost everything recovers ,usually incredibly fast . Prure the broken parts
is about all you can do anyway. I had every leaf from every plant completely removed twice less than 6 weeks apart and I lost not a single plant !! It needed a good pruning anyway LOL gary
