Make that Kigelia africana (pinnata).

African sausage trees grow in Sydney and Brisbane, Australia zones 10 - 11, but are not common.

One piece of information that may help. The flowers are purple and hang down on stalks from where the sausage shaped fruits develop from. The flowers smell of rotten meat which attracts its polinators.

As I've said, I don't expect flowers and fruit to really develop (famous last words). I have read that the flowers smell, but I have seen them flowering and fruiting (up close) and did not detect any odor--so the odor is either not too intense or temporary. Wondering more about the foliage plant itself. Still, mine has been transplanted for about two weeks now and looks great in terms of foliage.

Well I don't know how much this will help but I have one growing in the ground in SW Florida. It seems to be very slow growing. I grew it from seeds I bought. The leaves are kind of ordinary so I'm hoping for flowers and of course sausages. The leave have little points on edges of the leaves somewhat like holly. The bark is kind of corky.

Never saw Kigelia live, it doesn't grow in these areas, at least I don't know of any.
Strange, how first two leaves are rounded, and the next couple is a saw-like.
I read this tree can survive 28 F only. Is this true ? So it should be kept in temperatures above freezing during the winter ?

Absolutely, these are tropical plants. In the US, they can be
grown in South Florida (where annual minimum winter temps usually don't drop under the upper 40's.
