Wow! From what little I know of quavas, I believe they bloom/fruit relatively early. Is yours grown from seed, cutting, other? No matter what, 16 years is a long time so I have to ask a silly question...are you positive your plant is a quava?? Everything I've read or heard about these state that they can be kept in containers and will fruit at about 3'. Post your question on the Tropical Fruit forum. There may be some more folks growing these.
