Like Boca Joe I'm also in 7a and the temps are dropping. I haven't moved anything yet. My orchids are kept in a shade house and most actually like the cooler temps. I won't start moving plants until there's a frost warning and then I'll start the gh heaters running at night. I'll have to keep the heater going in one of the greenhouses during the day as well in about a month. I hate winter.

Are you growing alot of tropicals in MD? You are so lucky to have some greenhouses to put your plants in! What species of orchids do you have? I just have some catts. I'm always afraid to leave them out when the night temps drop into the 50's because one time I left them out and the new buds died from the cold. But it didn't hurt the plant. I have mostly bromeliads in pots. I just throw some quilts over them when we are expecting a freeze. Which is not usually until the middle of December. Thanks for answering my post.
