Passion Fruit

What does the passion fruit normally taste like? I have some matured, or as matured as they can get in our Tennessee zone 6, and it tasted just like cane sugar packs. The little sacks have a seed in each one, but are very sweet. The only use I think I could get out of these is to sweeten a cup of tea.

Were they not matured enough or is that what they taste like?

Different varieties have different tastes but most are kind of sweet/tart. They are usually used for juice. The fruit is more seed then juice and it takes an awful lot of fruits to get much juice. When ripe they drop from the vine or release at the slightest touch.
