I got one of those when we bought the house in 79 but i had to go out and look to see if i had red ribs I do
Since it's at least 35 yo and still growing must not be too important?? There are several varieties and hybrids of these with slightly different habits . Mine for example is around 8 feet tall while the neighbors has remained under 4
Theirs flowers twice as much as mine though it's patially shaded .?? They seem very easy to grow EXCEPT for being underwater they hate that lol
Yours looks like the "standard " type .judging from the flowers. There are hybrids within reginae that are pure yellow as well as white and not to overlook "juncea) which has identical flowers BUT leaves are tube shaped .
There are also closely related types thast have MUCH different habits
Relax and enjoy them . Seem to be immune from bugs tolerate some cold ,even drought but don't try them as a water plantlol gary

Thanks for the reply garyfla. The clump is about 7 feet tall so don't know how big it will get. It is in the shade late in the day. I'll just have to wait and see what it does. Thanks again. Peg
